ASSISTED LIVING - Studio, one or two-bedroom apartment with its own kitchenette and bath. Group meals, laundry service, housekeeping, social activities, personal care such as assistance with bathing, dressing, or grooming and medication management. Transportation is normally provided for doctors appointments and other activities. Recommended for the older person who wants the privacy of their own apartment and needs support and assistance with daily living.
RESIDENTIAL CARE COMMUNITIES - Offers 24 hour personal care and supervision. Semi-private and private rooms are available. Some offer private rooms with private bathrooms. Services include meals, personal care and laundry, housekeeping, social activities and medication management. Recommended for the older person who is dependent on someone else for his or her care and safety.
RETIREMENT CENTERS - Apartment style living. Studio, one bedroom and two bedroom with various support services such as meals and housekeeping. Generally best suited for older adults who can still live fairly independently but want security and support services. Various additional amenities and services that are offered are: transportation assistance, shopping trips, barber, beautician, and social activities. If you drive, parking is available.
ADULT FOSTER CARE - A family style home with up to five older adults. Private or semi-private bedrooms, meals, laundry, housekeeping and 24 hour supervision and personal care. Care is usually provided by one caregiver at a time. Persons that require heavy lifting, two person transfers or those who need assistance at night are not appropriate. There are 3 levels of classifications for a Adult Foster Care home. Level of care will be determined upon assessment information.
SKILLED NURSING - 24 hour nursing care and rehabilitation services such as Physical Therapy, Occupational, Speech and Respiratory therapies. Generally recommended for long term care when an individual needs rehabilitation or has complex or more extensive round the clock nursing care needs.
MEMORY CARE UNITS - (Primarily treating Alzheimer's and Dementia) - This is recommended for persons with symptoms of Dementia such as memory loss, impaired judgment, difficulty with comprehension, or disorientation to time, place or person. Most memory care communities are secured for safety.
